Interim Leadership

Filling the Leadership Gap and Providing Stability to Maintain Value Creation

Good leadership is always hard to find; recruiting talent with the experience to navigate the complexities of a PE-backed environment is immeasurably harder. Interim functional leadership can serve as a critical bridge – ensuring continuity and growth, especially in the immediate aftermath of an acquisition, during times of business decline, or when facing business challenges.
Kratos Partners’ Interim Leadership helps sponsors and portfolio company management teams to optimize the finance function until the right long-term leader has been identified.

The three (3) differentiating factors:

We're the largest and fastest-growing partnership of experienced operators.
Averaging more than 20 years of experience, our Partners have served as top leaders in some of the most recognizable brands in the world.

Our Partners assume leadership responsibility, continue important initiatives, and handle the unexpected.

Our Partners help you evaluate what worked and didn't work last time, how the organization needs to change, and the key attributes needed for your next leader to be successful.

We’ll even help you interview and select the right candidate.

Interim Leadership

Leadership during times of transition requires a unique skill set and exceptional caliber to navigate uncertainty and complexity. When business environments become challenging and/or uncertain, and/or undergo a merger or carve –out a steady hand with experience is needed to

  • Instill confidence and calm nerves.
  • Provide transparency and honesty.
  • Promote structure and tracking.
  • Prioritize the right priorities.
  • Bridge the company to the other side of the challenges.
  • Establish the objectives for the end-state.
  • Manage the business effectively during the transition period.
  • Develop and implement an operating framework for newcomers.

Our interim leaders specialize in private equity backed environments and are able to deliver results fast and reliably by providing:

  • Effective leadership – Provide a structure and repeatable process.
  • Right talent management - Building a fit-for-purpose team.
  • Cascaded performance - Instilling a culture of using financial and operational dashboards to run the business.
  • Strategic planning: Achieving far more in far less time

Based on years of experience and the critical nature of the finance and technology function, we believe the most critical roles that private equity deal teams should focus in the near term and consider interim leadership are:
